(#5082) 1063Mbps Storage Expansion Tower Adds up to 16 disk units (a total of 32 disk units are possible with the addition of #5052). #5082 includes a 1063Mbps optical bus card, and various cables (including an optical cable). The Storage Expansion Tower includes two SPD card slots, space for 16 disk units, one battery backup, one 400-watt base power supply, one 400-watt power supply and a regulator. The two SPD card slots may only be used for adding disk unit IOPs. The #5082 attaches to the system via a 1063Mbps optical link. Single byte disk units are not supported in this feature.

The prerequisites for this feature are:

• One disk unit controller (#6502, #6512, #6530, #6532, or #6533)
• One port in the OLP (#2688)

Maximum: A total of four expansion towers of all types are supported on the Model 620 & 720; 18 on the Models 730 and 740. Also supported on 640, 650, S20, S30, S40, and 530 systems.
